Please join us for a moment of silence.
Diego was the guy who changed my
thinking on cats. In fact, he blew it to smithereens.
Unlike any other cat I’ve known,
he was mellow and kind to our kids and our friend’s kids – even when they
pulled his fur, poked his eyes or pushed him around. Diego has gained legendary
status for this patient behavior amongst both parent and child.
The ragamuffin had an edge too
though. He was a handy hunter, bringing home many a bird – sometimes into the
house half alive and other times eating their whole body (including skull) in
the garden. Cuts and injuries were common for Big D as he patrolled the suburbs
of Pentyrch scrapping his way up the ranks of local cat politics and underground
gang culture.
He could rival most when it came
to food consumption too with reports reaching us from neighbours that Diego was
a regular visitor to their cat’s food bowls – often resulting in him returning home to puke up his loot for us to clean up.
Hopefully there'll be plenty of ham, fish and chicken juice (his favorite) waiting for him in the next world. He will be missed.
